Anyone a writer
So there are a few topics about drawings which are all incredible, by the way but none about writing... So I made one.
Does anyone else write? What do you write?
I love writing, but I don't do it much anymore... Unless you count journals. I used to write fanfiction and poetry, but I only ever posted my fanfiction and rarely show my poetry to people. I'm taking a creative writing class because I had hoped it would give me inspiration and motivation... So far so good with that.
What about everyone else?

I write poetry and prose, usually short stories or observation pieces. I also write fanfic, but less than I used to.

Re: Anyone a writer
Also a writer...got two fanfictions on the go at the moment and beginning one original that I want to publish as a novel one day.
I love language and literature. It makes me so very happy when it's done well.

Hannibal is a weird thing for me. I want to start reading all the amazing stories that people have written, but you usually see "Major Character Death" listed... I'm not ready for that.
You should though. I have a bunch of my stuff up on those sites It's cool getting reviews.

Re: Anyone a writer
I've been doing well with Hannibal, only one fic with death in it Other than that, I have contributed crack and porn to the fandom, haha.
Reviews are wonderful; I miss when people leaving reviews was a more common thing - or maybe it was just the fandoms I frequented?

Eh, I'm not sure. I wrote a lot of stories for the Kingdom Hearts fandom, and reviews weren't common, but when I wrote for the Thor fandom they were pretty common. Both have died down now.
For Hannibal, I never shipped anything until the finale... What a great time to start, eh?

^ Oh yeah, fantastic timing. I ship too much on that show, that's my problem. I am too dedicated to that thing. But my writing energy has been consumed by morbid poetry lately.

Morbid poetry seems good
I would always write sad poetry.

Re: Anyone a writer
I mean...I write some poetry
and poetry that doesn't rhyme
and short stories
but I'm a really shitty writer
i mean like
if there was an award for least decent poem to grace the internet
i would probably win it.
my poetry is always really...frantic? chaotic, upsetting...
i mean, half of it has come from when i'm coming down from an acid trip, so i guess that explains it.(i have the worst come downs, omg)

Re: Anyone a writer
I thought I was a really shitty writer too and that's why it took me so long to post any of my work... Turns out people enjoyed it, while I was still stuck there going "This is shit." Plus, I don't really know if poetry has an ability to be bad since it comes from a personal place? *shrug*

Re: Anyone a writer
im not a writer...i dont think i will be. im constantly failing english and even a basic essay is the hardest work for me, haha! but there are sooooo many resources for writers.... and i love reading, even if i cant distinguish good writing from bad writing. i wish i had a real interest in it! im too much of a visual learner to pick it up, though.

Re: Anyone a writer
I am really good at writing poems for some reason. I'm not trying to brag, but even my friend who doesn't like poetry much seemed to like my stuff. Most of it's pretty personal, but due to taking creative writing I've had to write a lot of poetry that fills out a prompt now I look at my old stuff and I think it really sucks haha...
I write some prose, again recently because of creative writing, but ever since I was young I liked making up stories and typing them up on the computer. Writing by hand though? nope. I despise doing that. I'm working on a story right now it's taking me forever to finish but I think my style is a bit too.. straightforward. I write action, action dialogue with very little description. My friend is really really good at writing and he's the opposite, he describes things in such vivid detail. I just don't think I'm very good because of it, I'm too embarrassed to let people read my writing most of the time. Though there is this girl in my class likes my writing and always asks to read my stories >.>;;

Minecraft and Star Trek for me. I've had two ships on the go since 2001, and recently I've been putting all my efforts into a rather bizarre Minecraft-related novel that would be fun to publish someday.
The original story is about the evolution of an android over about 300 years. Unlike most, he becomes a bitter albeit pretty organic personality in the end thanks to ~actual~ oppression (not being called the wrong pronouns).

Re: Anyone a writer
I've always been impressed at people who can fanfic. It's so fucking hard holy shit. I cannot write other peoples' characters.
I do dabble in my own original short stories. I write mostly vignettes that I'm hella nervous about showing.

Re: Anyone a writer
To be fair, none of my fanfics actually involve other peoples' characters - they're set in their respective worlds but haven't got established canon characters in them. Which kinda makes things easier.

Re: Anyone a writer
I'm the opposite. I can't seem to write original stories very well because characters are hard... At the end of this booklet it says to write a short story, so we'll see how that one goes.
Ah, that reminds me, my brother is buying me Minecraft today, I think. This should be fun.It has nothing to do with writing but it reminded me.

I would play on his world, but he'd always kill my chickens...
I'll most likely make stories up in my head while playing and never write them down.

Oh man, that's how Nuzlocke artists usually do it. I tend to write based off quotes or images more often than not.
I've always wanted to draw/write comics but paneling is so hard lol

Re: Anyone a writer
It is, massively. In reality you get someone who has mad pencil skillz (constructs brilliantly, has fantastic command over anatomy, motion, etc) followed by an inker, who is a master of detail and accuracy. The two, along with a dedicated colour guy, are what produces comics on a commercial level.
I watch a few amazeballs ones on DeviantART...

Re: Anyone a writer
Bah, I'm not a fan of commercial comics nearly as much; my love is forever webcomics. One person does everything, and while a lot aren't as pretty, the variety of styles, stories, diversities of characters, and "growing up" of the comics make me love them. One or two usually do everything (like Bittersweet Candy Bowl or Yu+Me:Dream or Blaster Nation) and it's just such a great experience. The humanness and accessibility of webcomics is so much more impressive to me. Most commercial comic authors have roughly the same style, and although there are exceptions (Skydoll and Infinite Vacation come to mind) the art doesn't do anything for me so I have to rely on an amazing storyline(Fables), but it's just not the same.
A lot of webcomic artists are very good at timing and dialogue and world building.
I talked a lot about art but that's just because I think it's a really important aspect of comics.
*****EDIT: my taste in art Sykes doesn't mean I don't absolutely respect their skill level; also I'm afraid I'm going off topic so I'm probably going to shut up.

Re: Anyone a writer
ahah, my main tumblr is a fandom blog and I write a lot of fic. like, not as much as I could but a LOT of fic. mostly minis and drabbles and stuff because I can't manage anything longer than a couple of paragraphs at a stretch but, still. I'm kind of worried anyone who happens to be in the fandom/ship I write for would be able to identify me from my typing style tbh.

Re: Anyone a writer
I enjoy writing from time to time, when my interest in drawing plateaus; mostly short stories that go hand-in-hand with larger story concepts that I have floating around in my head. One project that I've been working the longest on (approximately three years now?) eats up all the space on my iPhone, at least half of the 150 or so notes on my Notes app involve this project in some way or another. I've recently taken to writing poetry, though I don't think I'm very good since none of my poems rhyme! XD
I'm also aself-proclaimed master of the English language. Oh man do I love to write using enormous words and extremely vivid vocabulary. I could talk circles around people with my writing alone; if I spoke as coherently as I wrote, that is. Words are just so interesting to me, the way grammar fits together, sentence structures, spelling… I'm a stickler for correct English. Ask any of my friends and they'll tell you I correct their speech patterns all the time
That accidentally turned into a rant about English… XD oops, sorry!
